6/15/2025 – Among the more than 58,000 people killed since the assault by the Israeli military in Gaza began, approximately 179 journalists have been killed. That makes this the deadliest period for journalists since our friends at the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) began gathering data in 1992. Despite the dangers, Palestinian journalists continue to cover the tragedy that is unfolding in Gaza.
CPJ has been dedicated to aiding journalists, especially women journalists in Gaza. They are working to provide women reporters in Gaza with psychological support amid the ongoing conflict. More than 105 women journalists will be provided free sessions over the next two months. The workshops are hosted in a journalists hub that CPJ has organized — a dedicated space where local reporters can work, rest, and find community.
