8/01/2025 – The DRC is facing one of the world’s most severe—and overlooked—humanitarian crises. Armed groups, foreign interference, and the scramble for mineral resources have displaced more than 6 million people across the region.
Our allies at the Friends of the Congo have been on the ground in the eastern city of Goma, one of the hardest-hit cities in the DRC. In January, the M23 rebel group seized territory around Goma, forcing hundreds of thousands from their homes. Friends of the Congo is providing emergency support to displaced families, but conditions remain dire, with limited access to food, clean water, sanitation, and medical care.
