Sport Against Violence Iraq
Sport Against Violence Iraq (SAVI) is an organization in Iraq that specializes in leveraging the power of sports as a instrument for fostering social development. SAVI has implemented several programs, including the Baghdad Marathon for Peace, the Program for the Prevention of Violent Extremism, and the Program for Combating Discrimination against Women in the Field of Sports. Furthermore, they are actively engaged in the “Safe Spaces for Women” project, operating in the Anbar Governorate, and proudly spearhead the “Keep the Peace” initiative, which employs sports and art to mitigate the roots of violent extremism.
A 2022 grant from our sister organization, the L/G Foundation, supported the 2023 Baghdad Marathon for Peace.
