Slow Food Somalia

The Slow Food Somalia chapter of Slow Food International was established in 2011. Slow Food is a global movement dedicated to promoting local and traditional food centered around the principles of good, clean, and fair food for all. Slow Food works toward the preservation of traditional food cultures and champions sustainable and ethical approaches to food production and consumption. Slow Food projects in Somalia focus on local organic farming.

A 2023 grant from the Cultures of Resistance Network supported Slow Food Somalia’s efforts to provide water to areas suffering from drought.
