Slow Food Nigeria is part of the Slow Food International global movement dedicated to promoting local and traditional food centered around the principles of good, clean, and fair food for all. Slow Food works toward the preservation of traditional food cultures and champions sustainable and ethical approaches to food production and consumption. Slow Food projects in Nigeria focus on the education of women in local organic farming.

A 2023 grant from the Cultures of Resistance Network supported Slow Food Network Nigeria’s Slow Food Gardens project.
