Sea-Watch

Sea-Watch is a non-profit organization that conducts civil search and rescue operations in the Central Mediterranean. Founded in 2015 in the midst of a humanitarian migrant crisis, Sea-Watch provides emergency relief and rescue capacities and campaigns for organized rescue operations by European states and institutions. The organization consists of dedicated volunteers from all over Europe. They are financed exclusively through donations. Sea-Watch has been involved in the rescue of more than 45,000 people.

A 2023 grant from the Cultures of Resistance Network supported Sea-Watch’s new vessel for their fleet of rescue ships.
