Hichkas

Hichkas is an Iranian rapper, singer, and songwriter who has played an important role in popularizing Persian hip hop across Iran and Persian-speaking regions. His works have shattered the barriers imposed by the Islamic regime, paving the way for the acceptance of Iranian rappers in mainstream music. His national success has earned him the esteemed title of “Father of Persian Rap” among his devoted fan base. His music has also reflected the angst and aspirations of his country’s youth.

A 2013 grant from the Cultures of Resistance Network helped fund a musical production by Hichkas.

In addition, Hichkas received a personal contribution from CoR director iara lee in support of his music.
