Crisis Action is an international NGO that works to avert conflict, prevent human rights abuses in conflict situations, and ensure that governments fulfill their obligations to protect civilians. It works behind the scenes to coordinate NGOs’ responses to current and emerging conflict-related crises and to help them increase their impact on government policy. Crisis Action has offices in Berlin, Brussels, Cairo, London, Nairobi, New York and Paris.
Grants from the Cultures of Resistance Network supported Crisis Action’s work in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. This included ongoing work on Gaza as well as emergency response work undertaken following the wave of uprisings in the Arab world, including on Egypt and Libya. This support also went towards Crisis Action’s work to build civil society coalitions of international and regional partners to take forward collective advocacy in the MENA region.
