Black & Indigenous Liberation Movement

Black & Indigenous Liberation Movement (BILM) is a coalition of collectives, peoples, grassroots organizations, and social movements from all over the Americas. It was founded in 2020 with the aim of supporting the struggles against racism, discrimination, violence, colonialism, and capitalism. They seek to raise awareness of the need for unity between indigenous peoples and Afro-descendant communities as a tool to build a world free of racism, violence, and discrimination. BILM’s Training School hosts workshops and training programs dedicated to teaching decolonization as an anti-racist practice of black and indigenous liberation. BILM also hosts an anti-mining camp in Ecuador to amplify the voices of communities that have been affected by extractivism, as well as to organize actions with attendees from around the world.

A 2023 grant from the Cultures of Resistance supported their anti-mining camp in Ecuador.
