The Women’s Association of Vitória do Xingu in Brazil brings together indigenous, economically disadvantaged, and disabled women in a collective effort to resist violence in their community. The association has established a safe haven for women, offering shelter, meals, skill-building for financial independence, and community among women from diverse backgrounds. Moreover, the association actively advocates for women’s rights in Brazil and provides opportunities for involvement.

A 2023 grant from the Cultures of Resistance Network supported a free-range chicken project that provided food and income-generating opportunities to families in need.
