The Asian Federation Against Involuntary Disappearances (AFAD) is a federation comprising human rights organizations that are actively engaged in addressing the pervasive issue of involuntary disappearances across Asia. AFAD advocates for regional and international solidarity as an effective means to combat enforced disappearances. The perpetrators, often state agents, wield substantial power, necessitating an equally robust and impactful response.

A 2023 grant from the Cultures of Resistance Network supported AFAD’s research and documentation program.
