The Palestinian Environmental NGOs Network, a coalition of environmental NGOs in Palestine, which includes Friends of Earth Palestine. The network was founded in May 2000, six months after the commencement of the Second Intifada to coordinate environmental campaigns. Friends of the Earth Palestine works on a range of issues from food sovereignty to climate justice to biodiversity. Their programs include sustainability schools, promoting local agriculture, advocating for environmental policies and organizing community education programs. Their Preserving Palestinian local crops campaign from Friends of Earth Palestine is organizing a caravan tour to rural areas in the West Bank and Gaza to spread knowledge about local Palestinian plants. Distributing local seeds is meant to help Palestinian farmers work towards food sovereignty and preserve agricultural heritage.
