Under the call for “Human Rights Not War,” the Cultures of Resistance Network supports a broad range of initiatives that champion human rights, particularly in the global South.
As a first important priority, we are dedicated to addressing injustices against Indigenous peoples and supporting their cultural survival. From the Brazilian rainforest to the villages of Nigeria and the mountains of Pakistan, we collaborate with Indigenous-led organizations and allies that are defending native communities from threats posed by industrial development, mining, and corporate exploitation.
The Cultures of Resistance Network is also a long-standing supporter of the Palestinian struggle for self-determination and justice. We proudly work with activists and artists who are advocating for Palestinian human rights and who are promoting creative, nonviolent efforts to challenge Israeli-imposed violence and occupation.
As a final focus, the pursuit of women’s rights represents an important part of our work for equality and justice worldwide. The Cultures of Resistance Network collaborates with grassroots organizations that empower women through education, reproductive healthcare, advocacy, and economic opportunities. From campaigns against gender-based violence to policy changes that break down barriers, we support initiates to ensure that women everywhere have the rights, opportunities, and resources they need to lead.
