In the aftermath of the Beirut explosion last month, our ally KAFA (enough) Violence & Exploitation is expanding its reach to support women and girls who were directly impacted by the explosion or who had their vulnerabilities exacerbated by the combination of Lebanon’s socioeconomic crisis and the Covid-19 pandemic. KAFA is helping female domestic workers who were stranded in Lebanon return to their home countries. These workers were left by their employers with no money to pay their return, and their consulates or embassies were too weak to provide any assistance for repatriation.
