10/11/22 — Incredible research from The Ocean Cleanup, published in Scientific Reports, reveals that 75% — 86% by weight of plastic debris in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch comes from offshore fishing activities! The Ocean Cleanup is a non-profit organization that aims to remove 90% of floating ocean plastic by 2040 with its technologies, including their “artificial coastline” which is dragged through the ocean to collect debris.
