World Can’t Wait

World Can’t Wait organizes people living in the United States to repudiate their country’s unjust foreign policy, including the unjust and illegitimate occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan; the global “war of terror” that consists of torture, rendition and spying; and the culture of bigotry, intolerance and greed. World Can’t Wait seeks to build a community of resistance–an independent mass movement of people–acting in the interests of humanity to both stop, and demand prosecution of, these crimes. An important project of World Can’t Wait is War Criminals Watch, dedicated to generating public momentum and pressure to achieve indictments of accused U.S. war criminals.

A 2019 grant from the Cultures of Resistance Network supported World Can’t Wait’s We Are Not Your Soldiers project. The project brought together recent veterans to engage in discussions and dialogues with high school and college students about the morality of joining the US military, as well as the need for broad opposition within the population to the wars in which the United States is engaged.

Support from the Cultures of Resistance Network enabled War Criminals Watch to mobilize visible protests of war criminals visiting New York City. In particular, the organization produced educational resources and garnered opposition to Henry Kissinger when he spoke in NYC during the summer of 2011. These funds will help ensure that war criminals will have no free pass.
