Socotra Women’s Development Association

Established in 2001, Socotra Women’s Development Association is a local association in Yemen that carries out community outreach activities targeting the local community on Socotra Island, specifically in the areas of Hadibu, Duxum, Taner, Ararihin, Momi, and Qashihin. An all-women NGO, they support the community by selling goods made by local women, including souvenir handy crafts, carpets, incense burners, and pottery. They also work to facilitate public campaigns about environmental and health issues, such as clean water access and Covid-19 safety practices.

This group was supported by a 2022 grant from our sister organization, the L/G Foundation.
