Shoruq Organization

Shoruq Organization was founded in 2012 in the Dheisheh refugee camp in Occupied Palestine. Its vision, mission, objectives, and programs are geared towards political, social, cultural, and economic prosperity and a dignified life for all refugees in Occupied Palestine and the diaspora. Shoruq aims to empower refugees in shaping a just solution and a better future for themselves and their offspring. The organization works to raise awareness of the rights of Palestinian refugees and enable them to demand implementation of those rights. It provides free legal aid to children and free training and access to equipment to help them generate media forms, use art for advocacy, and create projects for social development. Shoruq has also developed projects that focus on girls’ empowerment.

A 2022 grant from the Cultures of Resistance Network supported the 2022 edition of Shoruq Organization’s Palestinian Refugees Film Festival.
