Somali and American Fund for Education (SAFE)

The Somali and American Fund for Education (SAFE) is a non-profit organization working to improve access to and quality of education in Somalia. Through partnerships with local universities and Somali communities committed to education, SAFE is rehabilitating schools destroyed in the civil war and constructing new classrooms and other desperately needed schooling facilities. SAFE believes increasing access to education is critical to achieving social and economic development in Somalia.

A 2012 grant from the Cultures of Resistance Network helped build 2 new classrooms and furnish 4 classrooms.
