Project Censored is a media research group, based out of Sonoma State University, which tracks the news published in independent journals and newsletters. From these, Project Censored compiles an annual list of 25 news stories of social significance that have been overlooked, under-reported, or self-censored by the country’s major national news media. Project Censored will continue to inform the public, advocate for independent journalism, and strive to spark debate on current issues involving media monopoly. Project Censored is affiliated with thirty colleges and universities that assist with the annual research. A grant from Cultures of Resistance Network supported Project Censored’s work.
The Regents of the University of California served as fiscal sponsor for this grant.
