National Bail Fund Network

The National Bail Fund Network is made up of over sixty community bail and bond funds across the United States. It regularly updates this listing of community bail funds that are freeing people by paying bail/bond and are also fighting to abolish the money bail system and pretrial detention.

A 2020 grant from the Cultures of Resistance Network helped the National Bail Fund Network continue to support the 80+ community-led bail/bond funds that serve as a vital part of the uprising infrastructure (freeing those jailed for protesting) and the movement to end mass incarceration (freeing people held in pretrial and immigration detention every day). The grant supported the network’s small staff of organizers that provide strategic and technical assistance, as well as coordinate with legal and movement leaders.  In 2020, the organization saw a huge influx of grassroots donations for the posting of bail but, as always, the coordination of mass protest release and ongoing bail/bond payment took a level of organized capacity with which the grant assisted.
