Mwatana for Human Rights

Mwatana for Human Rights, an independent Yemeni organization founded in 2007, advocates for human rights by verifying and documenting rights violations and providing legal support to victims. Mwatana investigates incidents of human rights violations, applying relevant local laws and international conventions to achieve legal outcomes in the victims’ best interest. Mwatana also publishes reports and articles to spotlight violations and share victims’ stories.

A 2024 grant from the Cultures of Resistance Network supported Mwatana’s legal aid programs.

A 2019 grant from the Cultures of Resistance Network supported Mwatana’s work monitoring and documenting violations of human rights and international humanitarian law in some Yemeni administrative regions.
