Makassed Foundation of America (MFA) is a non-profit philanthropic foundation created in 1999. Its mission is to advance education, empower women, and provide health care and medical assistance for underprivileged communities in Lebanon. After the August 4, 2020 explosion in Beirut, MFA established the Emergency Relief Fund to assist the Makassed Philanthropic Association in Beirut in achieving its goals, including providing health care, cleaning streets and homes, and distributing food parcels.

A 2020 grant from the Cultures of Resistance Network supported the Makassed Foundation of America’s Emergency Relief Fund.
