Farm Sanctuary
Founded in 1986, Farm Sanctuary works to change how society views and treats farm animals through rescue, education, and advocacy. The organization provides lifelong care for animals rescued from abuse at its three sanctuary locations in New York and California. It also promotes compassionate vegan living and advocates for legal and policy reforms.
A 2023 grant from the Cultures of Resistance Network supported Farm Sanctuary’s Rescue and Refuge program.
A 2021 grant from the Cultures of Resistance Network supported Farm Sanctuary’s advocacy and outreach work.
A 2016 grant from the Cultures of Resistance Network supported Farm Sanctuary’s rescue work. The grant helped care for farm animals rescued from cruelty, neglect, and abuse. It funded emergency rescue needs and costs of ongoing care that enabled the organization’s approximately 1,000 residents to live long, happy lives at the sanctuary.
In addition to support from the Cultures of Resistance Network, director iara lee arranged an outside grant for Farm Sanctuary in 2022 for their Rescue and Placement program for farm animals.
