FENMUCARINAP

La Federación Nacional de Mujeres Campesinas, Artesanas, Indígenas, Nativas y Asalariadas del Perú (or National Federation of Peasant, Artisan, Indigenous, Native, and Salaried Women), is a nationwide federation of women’s organizations in Peru, comprising some 126,000 members. The group’s mission is “to fight to defend women’s rights, with dignity and without exploitation,” through a broad struggle against environmental degradation, the erosion of food sovereignty, and the marginalization of indigenous peoples.

In 2009, the FENMUCARINAP Congress was held in Lima, Peru. The Congress attracted 1,000 delegates from across the country to plan a campaign titled “A Future Without Hunger For Women: Food Sovereignty Now.”
