Electronic Intifada (EI) is an independent, nonprofit online publication about Palestine, largely supported by its readers. Founded in 2001, this award-winning website is read by tens of thousands of individuals all over the world each month. The site offers cutting-edge analysis, original reporting, lively blogs, and extensive reviews of arts, books, and film. EI believes that its work helps empower collective and individual action by disseminating high-quality information and analysis to activists, journalists, and the public at large, in order to improve their understanding of the legal principles and daily realities that constrain or facilitate movements for justice.
A 2020 grant from the Cultures of Resistance Network supported Electronic Intifada’s work.
Grants from the Cultures of Resistance Network in 2009, 2010, and 2011 supported EI’s investigative reporting in Gaza and the Middle East. The Middle East Cultural and Charitable Society served as a fiscal sponsor for those grants.
