Community Organized Relief Effort (CORE)

CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort) is a crisis-response organization that brings immediate aid and recovery to underserved communities across the globe. When a crisis strikes, CORE responds immediately to fill gaps, mobilize resources, and establish trust and collaboration from within communities to empower them to break perennial cycles of poverty and vulnerability. CORE focuses on equity by bringing relief directly to those who need it most. Its efforts are driven by a focus on equity, locally hired staff, and an investment that starts from within the community and adapts to its dynamic needs. Their work has included providing support in Ukraine, Turkey, Syria and Haiti.

A 2022 grant from our sister organization, the L/G Foundation, provided equipment for CORE’s dental clinic in Haiti.

A 2021 grant from the Cultures of Resistance Network supported CORE’s earthquake response efforts in Haiti. CORE’s team conducted quick shelter assessments in Les Cayes, Camp Perrin, Maniche, and Cavaillon, and two communes in the Grand’Anse department.
