University Scholarships for South African Students (USSAS)

University Scholarships for South African Students (USSAS) was founded in 1990 by Professor Robert Paul Wolff to support deserving young Black men and women pursuing higher education at South Africa’s historically Black universities. In the past twenty-two years, USSAS has helped more than 1,500 young people pursue higher education in South Africa.

A grant from the Cultures of Resistance Network supported eight students at the University of the Western Cape in Cape Town. These students participated in the university’s HIV-AIDS awareness and prevention campaign, run by Dr. Tania Vergnani.
