National Iranian American Council (NIAC)

The National Iranian American Council (NIAC) is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the interests of the Iranian American community, supplying the tools and knowledge to enable informed decision-making, and promoting civic participation. Active since 2002, NIAC has a solid track record of success on policy issues affecting the Iranian-American community, a national membership, and a respected voice in the media and policy circles. Since its inception, NIAC has taken the lead on crafting a new way forward for the U.S. and Iran. The organization’s policy positions promote strategic engagement with Iran that includes human rights as a core issue. Widely seen as the go-to organization on U.S.-Iran relations, as well as the leading Iranian-American organization influencing U.S. policy, NIAC’s work has consistently been aimed at finding a peaceful solution to the U.S.-Iran nuclear dilemma and avoiding a U.S.-Iran conflict.

Grants from the Cultures of Resistance Network in 2012 and 2013 helped support NIAC’s general operations.
