Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions-USA (ICAHD-USA)

The Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions-USA (ICAHD-USA), a non-profit educational organization, is committed to advancing a just and sustainable peace between Israelis and Palestinians based on coexistence and respect for the human rights of all peoples of the region. ICAHD-USA supports and extends the educational work of ICAHD in Jerusalem, and discloses how the uncritical political support of the U.S., underwritten and financed with U.S. taxpayer money, sustains the Israeli government’s devastating impact on Palestinians and its violations of basic human rights. ICAHD-USA’s analysis shows how the Israeli government’s ongoing policies of Palestinian home demolitions, development of large settlements, and building of the “Separation Barrier” deep into the West Bank are persistent obstacles to a just and lasting peace.

ICAHD-USA is a multi-year grantee.

A 2013 grant from the Cultures of Resistance Network helped ICAHD-USA support ICAHD’s annual two-week Summer Rebuilding Program, which takes place in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. This program brings together international volunteers in order to rebuild demolished Palestinian homes and to highlight the destructive policy and human rights violations of the Israeli government.

Grants from the Cultures of Resistance Network in 2010 and 2012 helped ICAHD-USA create new educational materials highlighting the Summer Rebuilding Program. A new brochure was used to recruit participants and educate the U.S. public about the demolition of Palestinian homes.
