Imani House

Imani House’s mission is to assist marginalized youth, families, and immigrants to create vibrant neighborhoods. The organization believes that anyone can succeed if they are motivated and have access to appropriate services, skills, information, and opportunities. Imani House operates in both Brooklyn, New York, and Liberia, West Africa.

In Brooklyn, Imani House serves over 3,000 community members annually, through elementary-aged after-school programming, adult education and community outreach.

In Liberia, Imani House reaches over 17,000 community members a year. Its programs include its Child & Maternal Healthcare Facility, an Ebola eradication campaign, adult education, vocational training and a peer education project.

A 2014 grant from the Cultures of Resistance Network allowed Imani House to cover all shipping cost associated with the transport of two ambulances from New Jersey to Monrovia, Liberia. The ambulances allow Imani House to transport patients to and from its healthcare facility and to other medical sites to receive diagnosis and treatment.
