Capoeira4Refugees

Capoeira4Refugees (formerly known as Bidna Capoeira) is a Middle East–based organization that brings the centuries-old martial art and dance of Capoeira to communities struggling against war, poverty, and displacement. The group’s central mission is to use capoeira to provide support to young children who are dealing with the terrible effects of conflict. Initiated in the Al-Tanf refugee camp located between the Syrian and Iraqi borders, Capoeira4Refugees has since founded programs in other refugee camps in war-torn Syria and Palestine.

In Syria, Capoeira4Refugees helps train locals to create a sustainable capoeira program and reaches more than 300 vulnerable children and young people every month through workshops and events.
