Afghan Mobile Mini-Circus for Children (MMCC)

The Afghan Mobile Mini-Circus for Children (MMCC) is an educational project that uses circus activities to empower youth, build joyful communities, and promote peace in war-torn Afghanistan. At MMCC's flagship school in Kabul, 120 boys and girls, ages ten to 17, learn juggling, unicycling, acrobatics, theater, singing, puppetry and magic tricks. These students in turn perform and conduct workshops across the country, spreading awareness about health, land mines, the importance of education, and other issues along the way. The MMCC encourages children to lead and to learn from each other, with three-quarters of the circus activities led by children.

A 2012 grant from the Cultures of Resistance Network supported MMCC's general operations.
