“Understanding Iran” is an initiative of Link Media, which operates a national satellite television network devoted to global issues. Link TV presents documentaries by Iranian filmmakers, offering American viewers an “inside-out” view of a country that is often in the news, yet remains largely unknown and misunderstood. The documentaries are featured on “Bridge to Iran,” a weekly series broadcast on Link TV that promotes dialogue and understanding between Americans and Iranians (click here for the program schedule).
Link TV is an independent, non-commercial network available in more than 31 million U.S. homes on DIRECTV channel 375 and DISH Network channel 9410. Select programs are shown on more than 120 cable systems and on many campus channels and are streamed worldwide on the internet here.
Link Media is a multi-year grantee. Grants from the Cultures of Resistance Network in 2008 and 2009 supported Link Media's Iranian films programming, which provides rarely seen perspectives on the diverse and complex country.
