Democracy Now! is a daily, independent, global news hour hosted by award-winning journalists Amy Goodman and Juan González. The program features on-the-ground and breaking news coverage, as well as in-depth discussions on today’s most pressing issues with a diversity of voices from the frontlines of social movements around the world. Democracy Now! is broadcast on more than 1,300 public television and radio stations in forty-three countries and to a growing online audience. Its website received more than 25 million views last year. Each year, more than 1,000 students visit its studios to learn about independent media and more than forty young journalists, archivists and independent media organizers participate in Democracy Now!’s paid internship and fellowship programs. Democracy Now! accepts no advertising income, corporate underwriting, or government funding; it has grown and maintained its editorial independence thanks to the generous operating support of individuals and foundations.
A 2015 grant from the Cultures of Resistance Network supported daily production of Democracy Now!'s global, independent news hour.
