Adalah - The Legal Center for Arab Minority Rights in Israel

Adalah – The Legal Center for Arab Minority Rights in Israel is a legal center and independent human rights organization based in Israel. Established in 1996, Adalah uses Israeli legal channels to protect and promote the rights of Palestinian citizens of Israel, who make up 20 percent of the population, as well as Palestinian residents of the Occupied Palestinian Territory. The organization regularly brings cases to the Israeli Supreme Court and has engaged in international advocacy at the United Nations and in the European Union and the United States since 2014. In the work of shaping discourse and policy on Israel/Palestine, Adalah has increasingly centered its efforts at the intersection of art and human rights advocacy.

A 2016 grant from the Cultures of Resistance Network supported a multi-faceted project that reflects and supports Adalah's overarching US advocacy strategy to de-exceptionalize Israel/Palestine for American audiences and contribute to a growing transnational movement for social justice. Titled "Freedom Bound," the project includes short videos and a photography exhibit focusing primarily on present and historic Black-Palestinian solidarity.
