The Organic Consumers Association (OCA) is an 850,000-member online and grassroots non-profit organization advocating health, food justice, and sustainability. OCA's top campaigns focus on food safety, industrial agriculture, genetic engineering, children's health, corporate accountability, Fair Trade, and environmental sustainability. OCA is the primary organization in the US devoted to promoting the views and interests of the nation's estimated 76 million organic and socially responsible consumers.
A 2012 grant from the Cultures of Resistance Network supported OCA's Millions Against Monsanto Truth-in-Labeling campaign. This campaign pressured retailers and elected public officials to require that all foods containing GMOs be labeled accordingly, including prohibiting the use of the word “natural” on any food that contains GMO ingredients.
